Over the past few years, I did find inspiration in the work of Joshua Becker, although I must admit that I am far from a minimalist, some of the concepts is growing on me over time. In this post, I want to share the following YouTube talk (7 Min), where Joshua shares seven pieces of financial advice that changed his life forever as he states :
In summary, the seven golden nuggets are:
- Shortage in most cashflows is caused by either To Much House, To Much Car or To Much Entertainment,
- When getting married life on one income, where possible,
- Always by cars with cash,
- Have a spending plan, and stay within your means (Also three of the competencies that we learned from the Next Millionaire next door, being Frugal, Plan and Focus),
- Pay your bond off faster,
- Get yourself a job that gives meaning to your life and pay the bills,
- You are never too poor to give.
At first sight, simplistic ideas, however not that easy to practice these that all of them become second nature or habits in our life.
